COVID-19 case numbers from around the states and territories

Here's a quick wrap of each Australian jurisdiction's latest COVID-19 statistics today — Sunday, April 3.

NSW

The state has recorded 11 more COVID-19 deaths. 

There are 1,355 cases in hospital, 50 of those in intensive care. 

There were 16,807 new cases announced today.

Victoria

There have been another two COVID-19 deaths.

There are 307 cases in hospital, with 18 of those in intensive care and three requiring ventilation.

There were 9,008 new cases today. 

Queensland

The state has reported no new COVID deaths and 8,478 new cases.

There are 418 people in hospital with the virus, 16 of those are in ICU.

Western Australia

WA Health is reporting a total of 6,439 new cases to 8pm last night. That's more than 3,000 fewer cases than Thursday's peak of 9,727.

There are currently 53,952 active cases in the state.

There are 221 people with COVID-19 in hospital, seven of those in ICU.

Today's report also includes three historical deaths dating back to March 26, which were reported to WA Health yesterday.

They include a man in his 80s, a man in his 90s, and a woman in her 90s.

Tasmania

There were no more COVID deaths reported in the state, with 1,683 new cases recorded.

Of the 37 people in hospital, one of those is in ICU. 

There are 13,076 active cases in the state.

Northern Territory

The territory has recorded 309 new cases and no more deaths.

There are 14 people in hospital, one of those is in ICU.

ACT

No new COVID deaths were recorded.

There are 41 people in hospital, two of those in ICU, and 718 new cases were reported.

South Australia

South Australia has recorded 4,096 new cases and one death.

There are 188 people in the state's hospitals with the virus.
