A number of changes to the Covid-19 booster rollout were announced by Minster for Health, Stephen Donnelly.
With the Omicron variant set to become the dominant variant over the coming weeks, the Government is keen to ramp up the booster program over the coming weeks.
Omicron currently accounts for 11% of cases but that's expected to grow to 50% or higher next week.
Because of this, changes to the gap between the second and third dose, as well as waiting times have been introduced.

After receiving advice from the National Immunisation Advisory Committee, Stephen Donnelly confirmed that the gap between the second and third dose is being reduced to three months. It had previously been a five-month gap.
Niac has recommended speeding up the booster for those who received the one dose Janssen vaccine and should not have to wait for their age cohort to receive the booster.
The 15-minute wait after you get the vaccine has been removed in order to get more people through the door. This only applies to the booster and not the first or second dose of Pfizer.
Niac has recommended a fourth dose of mRNA vaccine no more than three months after the third for those who are immunocompromised
Pharmacies are now able to offer booster vaccines to all over 16s starting with the oldest cohorts and working its way down.
GP's will also be offering boosters to all over 16s starting with the most vulnerable groups.
With the increase in locations offering the third dose, people in their 40s will start receiving the booster next week.
