Covid-19: Active cases in Madhya Pradesh drop from 2,214 to 490 in just two weeks

BHOPAL: In past two weeks number of active Covid-19 patients has reduced by more than 77 — from 2,214 on June 20, it has reduced by 1,712 to 490 on July 3.

On June 20, there was only one district in the state Burhanpur which had zero active cases, ie, there were no Covid-19 positive patients. On July 3 too, there are 12 such districts, including Burhanpur.

The districts where there are no active cases include Burhanpur, Ujjain, Panna, Mandsaur, Ashoknagar, Tikamgarh, Sidhi, Dewas, Katni, Khandwa, Chhatarpur and Mandla. These districts had seen maximum percentage wise reduction in number of active cases in the past two weeks. However, if seen as districts which had seen maximum reduction in number of active cases, it is Bhopal where there is a reduction of 676 active cases in the same duration.

There were 775 active cases in Bhopal on June 20, and on July 3, it reduced to 99. After Bhopal Indore has seen a reduction of 311 active cases in past 14 days, followed by Ratlam where it has reduced by 125 and Jabalpur where it has reduced by 65.

Number of people recovering from the disease has been more than the number of people testing positive for quite sometime now, barring only a few days which were exceptions, this has led to the decrease in number of active patients, now it is below 500 in the entire state, said sources.
