LUCKNOW: The number of daily Covid vaccinations dropped below 14,000 on Wednesday as half of the government centres were used for routine immunisation of children. However, despite low inoculations, the number of first dose beneficiaries crossed the 10 lakh-mark.
“The numbers dropped because the drive was carried out in only 12 district hospitals, medical educational institutions, and special camps. The 52 primary and community health centres were dedicated to routine immunization of kids,” said district immunisation officer Dr MK Singh.
A total of 13,253 including 6,072 women were jabbed against Covid-19 at 46 centres: 36 government and government-aided special camps and 10 private ones. While 12,030 people were inoculated at government sites, 1,223 got the shot at private centres.
