Coventry vs Sunderland team news as front two shake off injury fears

Phil Parkinson named the same starting XI for the third game running, with Lynden Gooch and Charlie Wyke recovering from minor knocks in time to face Coventry City.

The only changes to Sunderland’s matchday squad came on the bench, where Joel Lynch returned from the rib injury he suffered a month ago, and Will Grigg was included amongst the subs for the first time since early January.

They took the places of Tommy Smith and Duncan Watmore.

Coventry boss Mark Robins – who was taking charge of his 200th game as Sky Blues manager – made one change to the side that drew 1-1 at home to league leaders Rotherham United in midweek as Jamie Allen returned to the team in place of Max Biamou.

Sunderland academy graduate goalkeeper Ben Wilson was included on the Coventry bench.
