Three people – two of them teenage boys – have been arrested in Coventry as part of separate investigations into suspected terrorism offences.
The seventeen-year-olds were detained on suspicion of preparing to travel to Syria to engage in terrorism, West Midlands police have said.
The pair were arrested at their homes at about 6am on Tuesday by officers from the West Midlands counter-terrorism unit, the force said on Twitter. The arrests were pre-planned and there was no immediate risk to the public.
In the other investigation a 39-year-old man was arrested in the city by counter-terrorism officers from the Metropolitan police. He is suspected of fundraising for the purposes of terrorism.
