Coventry City boss confident of keeping Bristol City midfielder at the club

Coventry City boss Mark Robins is confident of keeping Liam Walsh on loan at the club.

Walsh moved on loan to the Sky Blues from Bristol City in the summer after finding game time at the Robins hard to come by.

The 22-year-old's deal at Coventry runs until the end of the season, but there is a recall option that the Robins could trigger to take him back in January.

He has impressed with Coventry, and scored a brilliant goal against Rochdale last week, and Robins assistant Dean Holden said Walsh's form is enough to put him into the reckoning at Ashton Gate.

Yet Robins is confident of keeping Walsh and fellow loanee Callum O'Hare at Coventry.

"I think there are break clauses for both players but I honestly don’t see why there would be a major issue," Robins said to Coventry Live.

"It’s been a really good loan for them as well as their parent clubs.

"But at the end of the day we’ll find out in time, but I am sure their clubs are happy."

He added: "They’re performing to a decent standard at a decent level.

"The goal that Walsh scored last week was outstanding, so I am hopeful we can keep them."
