Mark Robins has insisted Viktor Gyokeres is staying at Coventry City despite talk of a Premier League move. Leeds United became the latest club to find themselves linked with a move for the Swedish forward.
Capable of playing anywhere across the front three, Gyokeres has scored 12 goals in 25 games for the Sky Blues, keeping them cemented in mid-table amid more off-field woes. His heroics place him just one goal behind Middlesbrough striker Chuba Akpom in the Golden Boot race.
Less than 18 months on his current contract has also heightened talk of a possible move. As well as Leeds, top-flight rivals Everton, Brentford and Fulham are also expressing interest in Gyokeres.

The lack of a striker has been problematic for Jesse Marsch and co in recent times. Signing Georginio Rutter could go a long way to solving that crisis but, like Rodrigo, he is also not an out-and-out number nine.

Coventry manager Robins rebuffed questions about his talisman’s future ahead of the transfer window, claiming there is no intention to become a selling club in January. With the links intensifying, the 63-year-old has again deflected talk of Gyokeres leaving this month.
“No (whether any clubs have enquired about Gyokeres). And we haven’t had bids for anyone. And they’re not welcome. And there won’t be anyone (of note) leaving this January. I don’t need any reassurance.”
