Cove Rangers fan takes in Hibs clash as punter finds risky solution to closed door conundrum

The international break will do strange things to people.

Throw in the continued absence of spectators from games and it's no surprise some are prepared to go to great lengths to take in some action.

That was the case at the Balmoral Stadium in Aberdeen this afternoon as Cove Rangers welcomed Hibs for their Betfred Cup clash.

One inventive punter mounted a step ladder to watch the action, and he's watched his side do themselves no harm at all.

The League One side went into the break 1-0 ahead against their Premiership opponents thanks to a superb free kick from Daniel Higgins after 17 minutes.

Paul Hartley's side had deserved their lead, and Jack Ross will be extremely disappointed with the first-half display from his men.

He's thrown Jamie Gullan on to replace Drey Wright for the restart and the youngster immediately repaid his manager's faith will a well-taken equaliser.

Kevin Nisbet then put the Premiership ahead with a classy first-time volley.

Fans will be glued to the TV as an intriguing second half unfolds, unless they happen to have a step ladder handy.
