Courtney Act oozes glamour as drag queen makes dramatic Neighbours debut

Courtney Act much-awaited Neighbours debut kicked off as she shared a picture alongside co-stars Takaya Honda and Matty Wilson.

The glamorous 38-year-old drag queen posted the picture on Instagram captioning:

"UK and Australia, I'm on @neighbours TONIGHT!!! Tune in for my soap opera acting debut!" she gushed.

Her announcement to join the cast of Australia's longest-running drama series came last year as she shared her excitement for landing the role on Instagram.

"I'm gonna be on Neighbours! Right, that's it, I'm done, I'm hanging up my wig. I've reached Peak 'Straya.' The mythical Fair Go. Advance Australia Fairy!" she wrote.

In the latest picture, co-stars Takaya and Matty - who play the TV show's first same-sex married couple - can be seen smiling.

Courtney and her co-stars are seen wearing bright clothes as the behind-the-scenes shot was taken while the trio filmed a scene showing the Mardi Gras parade.

The festival scene shows Takaya and Matty bumping into not only Courtney, but also Scissor Sisters frontman Jake Shears.

Courtney previously shared another Instagram post in which she can be seen pointing at her co-star during a scene.

The Neighbours official Instagram also posted a selfie post last year sharing the excitement of the three co-stars.

"Happy @sydneymardigras Eve! Have an early treat from us....@courtneyact is going be sashaying on the show next year and news doesn’t get much better than that!" it wrote.

The show's Instagram has also shared videos and pictures of the entire neighbours cast taking part in Mardi Gras dance practice.

Another video showed the cast dressed in bright costumes and jumping on an official float to mark the annual event.

Courtney Act, whose real name is Shane Gilberto Jenek, is an Australian drag queen and singer.

The reality TV personality was one of the runners-up in season six of RuPaul's Drag Race.
