Courtland Sutton excited to watch Drew Lock’s progress this offseason

Broncos quarterback Drew Lock had a brilliant finish to the year last season, completing 64.1 percent of his passes for 1,020 yards with seven touchdowns against three interceptions in five games. Lock went 4-1 as a starter and has his teammates excited about the team’s 2020 prospects.

“I have a lot of confidence in Drew,” Denver wide receiver Courtland Sutton said on Dec. 29. “The strides that Drew has made from the beginning of the season to now and the point he became a starter on this team to now is amazing to watch and to be a part of because the dude just does some things that I turn around and I’m like, ‘Dang! OK. Look at him.'”

Sutton was voted a second alternate for the Pro Bowl in 2019 and was added to the AFC roster last week. He’s eager to see Lock improve this offseason.

“It’s just fun to sit there and watch him make plays with his feet. Growing and developing and learning how to be that guy–I’m excited to see what he does this offseason. I’m excited to see his progress into next season through OTAs, through training camp and ultimately into next season.”

In five games with Lock last season, Sutton caught 22 passes for 280 yards and two scores. He’ll look to build on those totals next season.
