When done right, simple storage can change your life. Courteney Cox's corner-cabinet-cum-glassware storage is the best example I've ever seen.
I caught a glimpse of her innovative kitchen storage idea in a recent Instagram video shared by the Property Brothers. Johathan, Drew, and Courteney do a walk through of the Friends actress's kitchen, gathering inspiration for her appearance on their show, Celebrity IOU. Though the whole space is stunning, Courteney's innovative use of cabinet space especially stood out to me and other fans.
In the video she pulls extendable folding shelves out of the corner cabinet explaining: 'This has got the most amount of storage. If it was just a corner cabinet, I would have to dig all the way back there, but I just roll these out. So this holds so much.' It's a masterclass in vertical storage.
The Kitchen Storage Edit
This natural wood lazy susan is perfect for spice storage. It would look just as beautiful on a countertop as in the pantry, like the ones we see in Mandy Moore's space.
These stunning containers are perfect for storing your spices. They have the added benefit of pretty labels, to keep everything looking super stylish.
These stunning wire baskets are perfect for storing drinks and snacks. The gaps allow you to see wha's inside, while keeping them tucked away.
The look also gets Johnathan Scott's seal of approval. He gushes, 'I love that hardware.' 'Such a smart feature!,' The Property Brothers respond to a comment about the corner cabinet organization.
Courteney and Johnathan aren't the only ones who feel this way. One commenter responds: 'That former corner cabinet! [and a fire emoji].' Others laud the similarities between Courteney and her ultra-clean character on Friends, Monica.
Given the ease with which Courteney pulls out her kitchen corner cabinets, it's easy to see why the style has so many fans. It keeps a huge amount of glass and stoneware tucked away out of sight, but is easy to access whenever you need the cabinets.
However, this kind of extendable storage might not be for everyone. It requires shelves that go up quite high, so for shorter people, it might be difficult to access. Some people who like open cabinets where items are on display and within reach will not like this style. It definitely caters more to minimalists who prefer a smooth look.
Given the various perks and drawbacks, people have a range of opinions on this use of a corner cabinet. What do you think? Would you consider installing this kind of hardware in your own home? Let us know in the comments.
