Courteney Cox's gross eye trick on Instagram leaves celeb followers horrified

Courteney Cox freaked out her celebrity friends after she posted a video on Instagram which showed her doing a weird trick with her eyes.

In the clip the 57-year-old appeared to roll her eyes in opposite directions as she tousled her hair before looking startled at the camera.

The former Friends star captioned the video with “Should I be concerned?” alongside the side-eye emoji.

Her famous pals were quick to comment on the weird video. Actress and TV producer Mindy Kaling questioned the quirky trick, commenting: “Omg tell me this is a filter.”

Actress Leslie Mann responded: “Ummm” while actress Manon Matthews wrote: “Nah you’re fine.”

Commenting on the unbelievable video, actress Michelle Pfeiffer wrote: “Wait..did you really just do that?!”

A few fans also made references to Courteney’s iconic role as Monica in Friends in the comment section. One wrote: “You should probably see your eye doctor “Richard” lol” making a joke about when Monica had a crush on ophthalmologist Dr Burke.

While another fan said: “Okay stop making up excuses to see Richard.” A third comment referenced another beloved character from the show, Phoebe, played by Lisa Kudrow. It read: “‘Monica, I’m scared’ - Phoebe”.

The post amassed more than 300,000 likes from her 12 million followers with 3,600 comments as fans couldn’t believe what they were seeing.

But some were quick to point out that the trick was indeed just a fun video filter.

Courteney Cox rose to fame as Monica Geller in the cult TV series Friends before appearing in the Scream franchise as Gale Weathers.

Earlier this year she returned to the big screen in the fifth instalment of the horror series as well as starring in a new horror-comedy series called Shining Vale.

The show, which came out earlier this year and stars Courteney in the lead role, has been renewed for a second series.

Courteney stars as Pat, an erotic novelist battling depression, who leaves New York for a fresh start in Connecticut with her husband and two children.
