Court sequel in Brisbane murder case

A murder case involving two 52-year-old Gold Coast men has had its first mention in court. (AAP)

A Gold Coast man charged with murdering a 52-year-old man who was known to him has had his case mentioned in court.

Jason Moana Rimene, also 52, is accused of killing Kevin Edward Jones, also from the Gold Coast, at a house on Belmont Road, Tingalpa, in Brisbane's east, on Saturday.

Rimene did not appear in Brisbane Magistrates Court when the matter was mentioned on Monday.

Police allege the men got into a verbal confrontation that became physical at the Tingalpa property after Mr Jones arrived about 8pm on Saturday.

Mr Jones was treated by paramedics for head injuries, but died at the scene.

The case against Rimene will be mentioned again in court on November 23.

He was remanded in custody.
