Court date after woman charged with $8000 Central Coast identity theft

A WOMAN will face Gosford court charged with more than $8000 in fraud offences.

Police began investigations in September after reports a woman was defrauded of the significant sum.

Police arrested a 29-year-old woman at a Terrigal Drive apartment about 7.15am on Thursday.

They executed a crime scene warrant, seizing several documents.

The woman was taken to Gosford Police Station and charged with 18 counts of dishonestly obtain financial advantage by deception, two counts of use false document to obtain financial advantage, and an outstanding warrant for fraud offences.

"Police will allege in court that the woman fraudulently obtained the identity of another woman and committed various fraud offences," NSW Police said.

The Hebersham woman was refused bail to face Gosford Local Court on Friday.
