
TWO people were due to face court on Saturday after police allegedly found jewellery, laptops and house-breaking tools in a stolen car.
Lake Macquarie police had been seeking a Kia Cerato after it was stolen from a Newcastle shopping centre on February 24.
Officers allege they spotted the vehicle in Speers Street at Speers Point about 11.30am on Friday.
They stopped the vehicle and arrested two people, a 30-year-old woman and a 31-year-old man were arrested in the stolen car and taken to Belmont police station.
A search of the vehicle found jewellery and laptops police will allege were stolen, as well as implements used to break into houses.
The woman was charged with enter enclosed land and be carried in conveyance without consent.
The man has been charged with trespass, be carried in conveyance without consent, possess housebreaking implements and goods in custody suspected of being stolen.
Both were refused bail to face court in Newcastle on Saturday.
