An abusive man has been barred from entering the family home for two years after targeting his wife.
Edward Kerr, 58, was handed an Non Harassment Order preventing him from contacting his estranged wife Alana or visiting the marital home.
Paisley Sheriff Court heard Kelly was handed the restrictions lasting two years after he shouted and bawled abuse at her.
He lost the plot with his wife during a disturbance that took place at a property in Windsor Drive, Renfrew, on August 10.
Kerr, who is a first offender, pleaded guilty to the charge of behaving in an aggressive and abusive manner, likely to cause a reasonable person to suffer fear and alarm.
During the rammy, he directed abusive comments towards his wife, and was later arrested by the police.
Procurator fiscal depute Ed Sheeran confirmed that the complainer was seeking the protection of a Non Harassment Order from the court.
He said: “I spoke with the complainer and she confirmed that both the address and herself would require an NHO given the nature of the charge to which the accused has pleaded guilty.
“A period of two years would be appropriate in this matter.”
However, defence agent Paul Coyle said his client, who is still responsible for the mortgage on the property, was told his wife had left the house.
He said: “He has two sons and the complainer has older children from a previous relationship.
“The complainer has moved out of the locus with her children from a previous relationship.
“This leaves the mortgage with him as it is his name solely on the property.
“But he does accept the court will impose an NHO on him.”
Mr Coyle added that his client, who has no previous involvement with the court and has a good employment history, was prepared to pay a fine.
Sheriff Mark Thorley said: “You have no previous convictions, but I have noted it appears that your relationship with your wife has come to an end.”
He handed him a £500 fine, reduced from £750 because of his plea of guilty, and made him subject to the NH0 barring him from contacting or approaching his wife or entering the Renfrew property.
