Courageous Lanarkshire woman is this week's 'Say It With Flowers' recipient

A caring and courageous Wishaw mum whose son died earlier this year, is this week's recipient of our 'Say it With Flowers' accolade.

Stephanie Fitzpatrick was nominated by her best friend Kayleigh Johnstone after battling through the most difficult of years to change her life, and that of her family, for the better.

Originally from Leasowe in Merseyside, Stephanie, 40, tragically lost her son Leon earlier this year following a motoring accident in February.

But the Newmains mum - who lives with her partner John Christie and four children, Zac, Porsha, Shea and Archie - has battled through, showing "tremendous courage" to care for her family.

Kayleigh met Stephanie through her sister Marah over three years ago and the pair have been bosom buddies ever since.

Kayleigh told Lanarkshire Live : "Stephanie is amazing.

"Our kids go to the same school and she is one of the strongest people I know, always putting others before herself.

“She is so inspirational, courageous and brave. She is simply amazing."

Kayleigh added: “She had an awful start to this year when Leon tragically died.

"Somehow Stephanie has so much strength to keep fighting on daily and trying to provide some sort of normality for her children.”

And when Kayleigh told us about Stephanie we were only too pleased to help, surprising her with this stunning floral arrangement, courtesy of our friends at Pixies Petals in Newmains.

“I think she will be shocked to receive these flowers. She appreciates everything, but she puts everybody before herself,” said Kayleigh.

And after receiving the flowers Stephanie told us: “I’m in shock, I really am.

"I don’t know what to say. I really want to thank Kayleigh, she is a star. I would also like to thank the Wishaw Press and Pixies Petals for the beautiful flowers.”
