Couple with coronavirus given ankle tags because they refuse to self-isolate

A couple have been forced to wear electronic tags after refusing to sign a self-quarantine order.

Health authority employees and police officers turned up at Elizabeth and Isaiah Linscott's home in Radcliff, Kentucky.

They had tested positive for Covid-19 before refusing to sign a quarantine order pledging to isolate at home.

Under Kentucky law those with the bug are required to stay at home and then contact their authorities if their condition worsened.

Elizabeth did not feel comfortable signing the order however.

She told LadBible: "My part was if I have to go to the ER, if I have to go to the hospital, I'm not going to wait to get the approval to go."

Isaiah recalled the day when eight different officials turned up to their door.

He told local news station WAVE3: "I open up the door and there's like eight different people.

"Five different cars and I'm like, 'What the heck's going on?' This guy's in a suit with a mask, it's the health department guy and he has three different papers for us. For me, her and my daughter."

They claim they had no plans to break quarantine (Facebook)

Elizabeth continued: "We didn't rob a store, we didn't steal something, we didn't hit and run, we didn't do anything wrong."

The officials attached electronic tags on their ankles and placed them under house arrest.

She denied that either or them had intended to break quarantine.

In Kentucky 23,742 people have tested positive for the coronavirus.

Of those, 693 have lost their lives.
