Ant and Dec's Saturday Night Takeaway rainbow spotted over Aintree racecourse

Ant and Dec's Saturday Night Takeaway headed to Aintree Racecourse on tonight's show to give away a holiday.

Right at the start of the show Ant and Dec announced a special rainbow would appear in the sky over a certain area in the UK, with people within a two-mile radius in with a chance of being picked.

Fleur East would be heading to a mystery location and to the winner's house, with something exciting to share.

The boys and Fleur then asked people to look out their windows to see if they could spot the rainbow, but urged them to actually just follow the website links provided to check if they were in the radius.

And following the announcement many people took to social media saying it was Aintree racecourse and that they could see the rainbow.

Later on in the show Ant and Dec showed a few pictures on screen of the rainbow that people had sent in, with many people saying it was Liverpool.

Fleur East then went live to the winner's house with lights lighting up the house.

Fleur knocked on the door and a man called Adam opened it and looked shocked at the win.

His partner quickly appeared behind him and said: "We just got engaged today."

Fleur said: "Oh gosh awww congratulations that's lovely."

Ant and Dec were also shocked at the news and said: "A big congratulations on their engagement."

Last night people were left very confused as they spotted lasers coming from the racecourse.

Strange 'lasers' were seen shining for miles over Liverpool on Friday night.

The weird lights cast different colours into the night sky between 6pm and 7pm when several residents reported seeing them.

People in Fazakerley, Aintree and West Derby said the beams were very clear and visible but they weren't sure where they were coming from.

One woman contacted the ECHO and said they could be seen shining over her home near Longmoor Lane in Fazakerley.

She said: "The lights are very bright and they have been flashing on and off for the last 10 minutes.

"I'm not sure where they are coming from but I can see them shooting up from behind the houses across the road."

Photographer Andy Teebay located the source of the light beams at Aintree Racecourse, where a police van was stationed at the gate.

The lights were being shone at the sky from the site on the old racetrack near Beechers Brook but it wasn't clear why.

Andy said: "I followed the lights to Aintree Racecourse.

"They were on the old racetrack near Beechers Brook.

"The police turned up and spoke to a guy in a van, I think he was security."
