Couple who went viral over sausage supper Just Eat apology invited for a free date night

A Glasgow couple has been invited for a free date night on board a 'sail thru' chippy after a delivery note on their last order went viral.

McMonagle's Boat shared a picture of a takeaway order placed by a girlfriend attempting to heal a rift with her boyfriend with the help of a sausage supper.

The grovelling girlfriend ordered a sausage supper, buttered roll, coleslaw, and Monster energy drink to be delivered to her man as a figurative olive branch after a fallout.

It read: "Contact-free delivery. Buying this for my boyfriend because I was a c*** so trying to suck up and he's blocked me so can yous put a note in saying sorry and I love u and if he doesn't answer just leave it at the door thanks."

Posting an image of the receipt on Facebook, McMonagle's Boat, which is docked on the Forth & Clyde Canal at Clydebank, added: "Nobody apologises better than the Scottish lol.

"Best delivery comment of the month."

Luckily there's been a happy ending as the couple have made up and will be able to enjoy their next McMonagle's meal together.

Posting an update on social media, the restaurant said they'd love to invite the couple onto the boat for an all-expenses-paid date night.

In response, the chuffed girlfriend said the peace offering 'worked like a treat'.

If the story proves anything it's that there's nothing that a sausage supper can't fix!
