A couple who met and masterminded their product at Nottingham Trent University successfully secured five offers when they appeared on Dragon's Den.
Charlotte Bailey, 24, and Sean Ali, 28, graduated from NTU back in 2016 - Charlotte completing a law degree while Sean studied business management.
The couple both had their personal struggles in the run-up to appearing on the show, with Charlotte struggling with Coeliac disease while Sean was diagnosed with Hodgkin's Lymphoma three years ago.
Before graduating, the pair had turned their attentions to a product they wanted to roll out to the public - called Super U, their own superfood brand.
Charlotte and Sean, who now live in South Shields, entered the Den looking for a £50,000 investment for 5 per cent of their business, an offer which all five dragons made after an impressive pitch during an episode which aired at 8pm on Thursday, April 8.
Charlotte said: "It was amazing. All the dragons agreed with our valuation of the business, which never happens. We were in complete shock, honestly!"
Sean and Charlotte were in their final year of studying when they thought of the idea for their product and stayed in the city for six months after completing their courses in order to prepare for its launch.
At the time, Charlotte was still struggling with severe fatigue and digestive issues, after being diagnosed with Coeliac Disease.
So, the couple decided to take matters into their own hands and design a product to help with her condition.
Then, two years later, Sean was diagnosed with Hodgkin's Lymphoma.
Charlotte told Nottinghamshire Live: "One year into starting the business, we discovered Sean had blood cancer. As a young, healthy, 26-year-old, it couldn't have been more of a shock.
But we didn't stop, despite it being the most challenging six to eight months of our lives. Because of what we have been through, it was just unbelievable to receive the offers we did from the dragons - it's hard to put it into words. It made it even more special."
Sean received the all-clear July 2019 and is still officially in remission.
They both came into the Den with an idea of who they would like to become a part of the business and were left spoilt for choice.
“When we received all offers, the atmosphere was really tense," Sean said.
"Before we entered the Den, we had our eyes on Tej Lalvani and Peter Jones. Having both Dragons as a joint deal would have been a dream come true for us.”
After a talk at the wall and a further discussion between themselves, Charlotte & Sean negotiated a joint deal with Tej Lalvani and Peter Jones for a £50,000 investment in return for 6% equity - 3% distributed between each of the Dragons.
