Couple visiting Chicago robbed of engagement ring, other items worth thousands

CHICAGO _ A couple from out of town were robbed at knifepoint of a $12,000 engagement ring and other items worth thousands of dollars after their GPS guided them toward Lower Wacker Drive in the middle of the night, according to Chicago police.

The man and woman, both 27, were walking on the lower level of 300 North Columbus Drive when three men approached around 1:50 a.m. Thursday, police said.

They pulled out a knife and took the ring, along with a $3,000 suitcase purse, a $2,000 MacBook Air laptop, a $300 suitcase and a $150 iPad mini, police said.

No one was injured, and no one was in custody.
