Couple tries to recreate Pinterest photo for engagement shoot - but it goes terribly

A couple's hilarious engagement photoshoot has gone viral after they tried to recreate a cute Pinterest snap - but failed spectacularly.

Alyssa Snodsmith and Collin Hewett met while studying at Olivet Nazarene University in Illinois, US, where they both played soccer.

After dating for three and a half years, Collin, 23, asked Alyssa, 24, to marry him in a romantic proposal on a bridge in August.

The pair set a date for their wedding in June 2020 and in a bid to send out some special save the date cards, they organised a romantic photo shoot with their friend, Chandler Lefever.

Alyssa found a sweet Pinterest photo she wanted to recreate.

The picture showed a happy looking couple, with the man pouring champagne into the woman's mouth.

But when the pair attempted their own version, it went terribly wrong, with Collin pouring the Andre Brut California Champagne all over his partner's face and shirt.

Her shock was caught on camera, in a perfect shot that has gone viral.

"So me and Alyssa took our engagement pictures yesterday. She found a Pinterest picture that she wanted to try and recreate,” fiancé Collin Hewett wrote in the tweet. I botched it.”

"Well, we found the right angle but I didn't find the right angle with the bottle," Collin told Buzzfeed News.

"I was super hesitant the whole way and then it started to just dribble out the end. So I kind of over adjusted."

Thankfully, Alyssa had a spare outfit with her, so the shoot was able to continue.

"We were dying laughing," she said. "Our photographer fell on his butt because he was laughing so hard. He managed to still snap pictures of us."

But many Twitter users were a fan of the candid shots, after they were retweeted 56,000 times.

One said: "Adorable you should put those on the wedding invites."

Another said the photo had made him laugh, and wished the couple the best in their marriage.

And Alyssa took to Twitter to reassure everyone she was OK, after the incident.

"I'm fine btw," she tweeted.

Others shared their own "botched" engagement photos, while others compared the prices of champagne used.
