Couple transform coffee table into a dog bed for just £16

An old, unused coffee table was upcycled by a savvy couple into a cosy dog bed for only £16.50.

The bargain DIY project used items the pair already owned, along with some purchases from B&M and the result is brilliant.

A lick of paint, bedding and hard work completely transformed the old piece of furniture, reports the Mirror.

The amazing before and after pictures were shared by the couple on the Facebook group Extreme Couponing & Bargains UK with dog lovers and keen DIYers soon inundating the post with comments.

The dog's owner wrote: "Coffee table to dog pad!

"Our first little ‘upcycle’ project... total cost of £16.50 plus and old coffee table, pillow, a throw and a pup!"

All that was left was to flip it upside down and add a comfy cushion and throw blanket.

Since it was posted on Facebook, it has received 3,600 likes and 350 comments from people praising the clever idea.

One person said: "Oh look at him! I’ve got a pug may have to try something like this! xx"

Another added: "I have the same table and we hardly use it. Definitely thinking of gifting our boy with a upcycled bed because he loves his little cosy spaces."

A third also commented: "That’s so good, clever you to have thought of it."

And a fourth admitted: "I chucked mine after I moved! Wished I kept it now."
