Couple's Las Vegas nightmare saved by Sir Rod Stewart crashing their wedding

A Liverpool couple were left stunned when music legend Sir Rod Stewart turned up at their wedding.

Sharon Cook and Andrew Aitchison had thought their big day had been ruined following the collapse of Thomas Cook.

They were due to marry at Caesers Palace in Las Vegas but were forced to cancel when the travel giant went into compulsory liquidation on Monday, September 23.

Their £9,000 flights out to the states were no longer available so the heartbroken couple contacted Ceasers Palace for help, and they did, going out of their way to give them the wedding of their dreams.

Flying them and 14 of their friends and family to the states with Delta, they were chauffeured in a limousine to the hotel and upgraded to the penthouse suite, the Daily Mail reports.

But the surprises did not stop, and following their vows Sharon and Andrew were left speechless when Grammy Award-winning singer Rod, who has a residency at the hotel, sang 'Have I Told You Lately' to Sharon and their wedding party.

Taking to Twitter, the beaming groom said: "So @rodstewart just turned up at our wedding and sang to my wife! I can’t believe what has happened in the last week and this has just topped it off.

"Thank you Rod you’ve absolutely made our dream wedding you absolute legend. We Can’t wait to see you Friday #LikeACaesar #SirRod"

Today footage of Rod serenading the newlyweds was shared all over news and daytime TV shows, with This Morning's Ruth Langsford and Eamonn Holmes praising the star for his kind gesture.
