Here's a handy reminder to always scour each selfie you take in case there are any embarrassing or incriminating details lurking.
This is especially true if you plan on sending said image to your parents.
Learning this lesson hard way are Kelsey and her boyfriend, Elliot, who have both been left blushing after sending a holiday selfie to Kelsey's parents.
In the image we see the couple holding hands, the bed, some water bottles - and, hiding in plain sight in the foreground, a bottle of Durex lubrication, which is possibly one of the last things on earth you'd want your parents to spot.
Kelsey, 22, bravely shared the photo and subsequent text exchange with her mum on Twitter , adding the caption: "Sorry dad. Will not be sending more holiday pics in a hurry."
Perhaps the best part of the story is the hospital worker then tried to convince her mum and dad that the Durex bottle was Elliot's knee cream.
But this explanation could not withstand the investigative powers of her parents, who were having none of it.
Since Kelsey shared her story, others have been left in stitches by it.
One fellow Twitter user commented: "She should know by now that dads with daughters are like the FBI."
"Aw man you can't come home from that holiday", another added, which is probably what we would do.
