The Westpac Rescue Helicopter crew helped police track down a couple who became lost after their boat ran out of fuel on Saturday night.
The pair - a husband and wife in their late 20s - used a mobile phone to call for help after they became lost in the Fern Bay-Kooragang Island area about 9.30pm, the chopper service said in a statement.
The couple was eventually found on a marshy island where they had lit a fire.
They were air-lifted to safety - neither one of them was injured.
