A couple have been filmed pointing guns at Black Lives Matter protesters outside their mansion in the US state of Missouri.

In footage that has gone viral on social media, the man is seen brandishing what appears to be a semi-automatic rifle at the demonstrators as he shouts at them to keep off his property in St Louis, while a woman waves a silver hand gun.

Local media reported them to be personal injury lawyers.

The confrontation happened last night as about 500 people headed towards city mayor Lyda Krewson’s home, with many chanting: “Resign Lyda, take the cops with you.”

The resignation demands follow a briefing on Friday when Ms Krewson read the names and addresses of several residents who wrote letters calling for police reforms and suggesting she stops funding them.

An online petition calling for her resignation had more than 43,000 signatures as of this morning.

Meanwhile, Mississippi politicians have voted to redesign its state flag to remove the Confederate emblem.
