Couple planned and booked their entire wedding before even getting engaged

We all know that planning a wedding can get a little out of hand and things can become stressful for all involved.

So one couple decided to do things a bit differently in the run-up to their big day.

They knew people would make a fuss about things once they announced they were getting married, so they planned the entire thing before getting engaged.

TikTok user @evh1990 revealed how the sneaky plan worked out in a video on her account.

She started by asking fellow users: "What's something strange and unique you did when planning your wedding?

"I'll go first..."

She went on to explain how they picked out everything they wanted in advance, including the caterers, the dress and the date and time.

They then ensured their guests would be free for their wedding, by inviting them all to a barbecue on that day.

It was only once the proposal actually happened that they told their nearest and dearest the truth.

The barbecue was actually a cover for their wedding, it was happening in just four months and there was nothing for anyone to worry about, as it was all taken care of.

People thought the idea was 'genius' (TikTok)

The bride said: "So we actually planned the entire wedding, caterers, dress, everything, before getting engaged and put it on our friends and family's diaries as a 'barbecue'.

"Then when we got engaged and told our friends and family we were engaged, we said, 'Oh that barbecue, not a barbecue. It's our wedding day. It's in four months time, you don't have to stress, there's nothing to do, there's nothing to worry about.'

"Highly recommend. HIGHLY recommend."

More than 4,600 people have watched the TikTok clip so far, with hundreds liking it.

Some were quick to brand the idea "genius".

One person commented: "Genius! My parents did similar, they got engaged on a Monday and got married that weekend at a registry office to avoid any fuss being made."

"I love this," proclaimed someone else. "We are already engaged but love the idea of saying we are planning a 'party' and making it our wedding."

A third admitted they'd done something similar, adding: "Yep! Other than the dress, we had everything booked and only told our parents before we got engaged."
