Couple organise 'perfect' wedding for just £1,000 - including church, flowers and cake

Most people dream of bringing all their loved ones together under one roof to help them celebrate their wedding day.

Unfortunately this doesn't always come cheap and many have to save for years to afford everything on their wish list.

But one couple managed to have the wedding of their dreams without breaking the bank, spending just £1,000.

Beth and Lee Southern, who live in Norwich, managed to get a church service, flowers, and a fancy reception within their tiny budget.

The couple decided to take advantage of a package deal being offered by a reverend in Cheshire in a bid to halt the decline in church weddings, reports Mail Online .

The deal includes a service, flowers, and reception with wine and a two course meal for 30 people all for just £1,000.

Other people in the community also offered to help out free of charge, with people helping with flowers and transport.

The couple have been together since they were 16 and engaged four years.

Beth told MailOnline : "I couldn’t have asked for a better day. The wedding was perfect.

"Because weddings are so expensive we thought we’d have to wait. We were saving up but wanted to buy a house first.

"Then we spotted this offer and it meant we could do both at the same time."

The couple got a amateur photographer to take their wedding snaps which they're really pleased with.

Beth's dress wasn't included in the deal, but she did manage to get someone to alter her £800 gown free of charge.

The church will offer three of the package ceremonies each year.

To make it affordable, it scraps its normal £250 fees leaving more cash to play with. The evening reception is held at the church centre, and £650 goes on food and drink including pea and ham soup and a chicken main.

The rest of the money is spent on flowers, invites, a cake and a photo.
