KARNAL: A couple was killed after the roof of their house collapsed at Sagha village in Karnal district due to heavy rains. The incident took place on the intervening night of Sunday and Monday when they were sleeping in the room.
Police said that the deceased have been identified as Surinder Singh (47) and his wife Sunita (45).
However, a minor daughter and two minor sons narrowly escaped as they were sleeping in another room.
After the loud bang, neighbours reached the spot and they were taken to the hospital where doctors declared them as brought dead.
As per the locals, Surinder was a laborer and he was survived by four children.
The police said that the bodies have been sent for the post mortem and action will be taken as per the statement of the children.
