Couple host extravagant Harry Potter gender reveal - but some say it's 'too much'

When you're expecting a baby, it's become part of tradition for some parents to host a gender reveal party where they gather their friends and family to find out whether they're expecting a boy or a girl.

And while some reveals are understated and come in the form of a balloon with pink or blue confetti or a cake filled with pink or blue sweets, others are over the top and lavish - with no expenses spared.

The latter is what Mexican WWE star Angel Garza and his wife, presenter Zaide Lozano, chose for their gender reveal, as they hosted an extravagant bash complete with a light show and fireworks set to the iconic Hedwig's Theme from the Harry Potter film franchise.

A video of the special moment was shared on TikTok by Angel's fellow WWE star Kayden Carter, which showed almost three minutes of impressive light displays that used the couple's house as a backdrop.

Fireworks were then set off behind the house as the voice of Dumbledore spoke the names of the Hogwarts houses, before an image of the Sorting Hat flashed up on their garage.

The video, which was posted on Kayden's @kaydenwwe account, then showed text displayed on the garage which read: "It's a girl!"

Angel then let off the smoke cannon he had been holding to reveal billowing pink smoke, confirming the couple are expecting a daughter.

The extravagant gender reveal has sparked debate online though, as while some believe it's the "best reveal" they've ever seen, others think the couple put "too much" into what could have been a more subdued affair.

One person said: "That was amazing. Best reveal I’ve ever seen."

But another disagreed, writing: "You're doing way too much and taking way too long."

"I got bored halfway through! So pretentious", someone else posted.

While a fourth had nothing but kind words to say, stating: "This is the BEST ever reveal I have ever seen! Congratulations on your baby girl."

There were even comments from some people who were tempted to try the light show out for themselves as they dared to ask how much it would cost - though no one was able to give them an answer.
