A newly engaged couple - who post via @tandkay021 - have taken memorable proposals to a new extreme after an exciting and celebratory embrace loosened the grip on their engagement ring, making it disappear amongst the sand. The picturesque and romantic beach proposal quickly took a dramatic turn as documented in a video on popular video-streaming service TikTok - which has surpassed a whopping 6.4 million views to date.
The footage captured everything - from the exciting question being asked, the ring jumping out of the box, and even a photographer capturing the jaw-dropping moment. After the couple embraced, the boyfriend was caught saying : "I've lost the ring!"
Thankfully, the couple's family who had joined to witness the proposal quickly offered a helping hand to search for the special piece of jewellery.
Whilst the group were determined to find the sparkling diamond, the coupled admitted that they were "praying it wasn't in the water".
The pair's joint account documented a small crowd searching for the ring, however, the journey took them into the dark of night and made their search significantly harder.
The video's caption read: "I can't make this up. We were doing engagement photos and this happens !!!!"
Undeniably terrified, the bride-to-be admitted in a second clip that she burst into tears over the ordeal as emotions rushed to the surface.
She explained: "In the freezing cold wind, barefoot with strangers I finally broke down and I cried.
"This lovely man who I don't even remember the name of because of adrenaline suggested we pray."
The viral clip flooded with responses as viewers begged for an update, asking whether the couple managed to retrieve the ring.
In jaw-dropping relief, a much-anticipated video showed that the photographer - who was snapping the moment - spotted the band amongst the sand.
Thankfully, the couple were able to retrieve the ring after a gruelling two-and-a-half-hour search.
The bride-to-be gushed: "This amazing photographer and human found my ring.
"While everyone else was using a flashlight and the metal detector….
"All she had was her cell phone light and her hands. Photographers have good eyes!!!! Not only did her family come to the rescue they also stayed very later in the dark and cold. I'm so lucky."
The woman was clearly emotional, wiping away her tears, as she breathed a sigh of relief: "The photographer found it and I'm so happy!"
"And we had all these people out here looking for it - you can't even see them because it's so dark."
Taking to the comments, one TikToker gushed: "Omg that would be so stressful! So glad you found it."
That's how you know you did it right. You get a funny story to tell the kids," a second gushed.
"I'm so glad u found it omg," another added.
