Couple dined on steak, lobster and wine for Valentine's Day then didn't pay

A couple ordered steak, lobster and "numerous bottles of wine" for a pub dinner on Valentine's Day then left without paying, the owner has said.

The hefty bill was left unpaid at The Mill in North Yorkshire on Monday night.

The award-winning pub posted a warning to the pair on social media on Tuesday, reports TeessideLive.

It read: "To the lovely couple that racked up a hefty bill consisting of fillet steak and lobster, numerous bottles of wine….

"Whilst we’re sure it was an honest mistake on your part that you left without paying, please pay your bill by 4 o'clock today.

"You were sat opposite a camera and the CCTV couldn’t be clearer.

"Happy Valentines, eh."

The pub later said they had made contact with the couple -- but "sadly", they had not yet settled the bill.

"We’ve been assured it will be paid tomorrow when he gets paid," the Facebook post added.

"Let’s see what tomorrow brings!"

Posters on social media have condemned their actions as "absolutely shocking."
