Merseyside Police rushed to School Lane in Hoylake at around 4pm on Wednesday, May 25, following reports of a man and woman being assaulted. Once officers arrived they found the couple were approached by a gang of four.

One of the boys in the group made a threat towards the man before assaulting him. The suspect ran away from the area across Market Street and along Elm Grove, towards the railway line.
