- A pensioner couple, Fyona Bairstow, 72, and Michael Bairstow, 77, have pleaded guilty to racially aggravated assault.
- The couple attacked NHS nurse Apple Moorhouse in August in Manor Heath Park, Halifax, following a dispute over their dog being off its lead.
- Michael Bairstow made racist remarks, including telling Ms Moorhouse to “go back to your dinghy”, and also assaulted a second woman who intervened, the court heard.
- Fyona Bairstow pulled Ms Moorhouse's ponytail during the incident and also called her a “stupid bitch”, the court heard.
- Ms Moorhouse, a British citizen originally from the Philippines, said that she has been left scared and anxious, and has not returned to work since the attack.
