Couple accused of sex on Thomas Cook flight admit to being drunk on journey

A couple who were accused of having sex onboard a Thomas Cook flight have admitted to being drunk on the journey.

Gemma Heap, 36, and Philip Mycock, 39, had earlier been accused of having sex on a holiday flight from Manchester to Tunisia on July 29, 2019.

Prosecutors initially claimed the pair had sex while still in their seats and in front of children.

The pair had denied charges being drunk on an aircraft and outraging public decency and were due to face trial.

But they admitted the first charge when they appeared at Minshull Street Crown Court in Manchester while prosecutors withdrew the second charge after offering no evidence.

Tunisia had been one of the most popular tourist destinations for British holidaymakers before the devastating terror attack in the tourist resort of Port El Kantaoui killed 38 in June 2015.

Visitor numbers climbed back up to 378,000 in 2019 before the coronavirus pandemic struck.
