Couper Street in Leith cordoned off by police after man's body is found

A section of Couper Street in Leith has been cordoned off by police after a man's body was found early this morning.

Officers were called to the area at 7.10am after reports of a male being found injured near to the high rise flats. Emergency services arrived a short time later and the 52-year-old was pronounced dead.

Police say they are continuing the investigate the circumstances surrounding the death.

A spokesperson for the force said: “Around 7.10am officers were called to reports of a man found injured in Couper Street in Edinburgh.

"Emergency services attended but the 52-year-old man was pronounced dead.

"Enquiries are ongoing to establish the full set of circumstances surrounding the incident."
