A North East bingo player has become a millionaire days after opening her first online account.
The mum-of-two, from Seaham in County Durham, racked up the fortune after opening her online Mecca Bingo account with a £100 deposit.
The woman, who asked to remain anonymous, won her first jackpot within hours. She scooped £597,000 at MeccaBingo.com in October and then a further £552,000 10 days later.
“I was in utter shock when I won the first time and when I continued to play online I didn’t expect to win anything at all, let alone another large sum of money," said the lucky player, a regular visitor at Mecca Sunderland until her mother died.
"It’s taken nearly a week to get over the shock of winning the first time and then I won again! Even now I'm scared to look at my bank balance.”
