That's all folks!
Right, I’m afraid it’s time for me to go, before I get turfed out of the Ageas Bowl. There is still one game happening, up at Derby, but I’m not sure staff here would take kindly to me sitting around live-blogging that. Anyway, I have a home to go to.
Here are the results from this round (there is a day left at Somerset v Surrey, but you’ve got to expect that will be a draw).
Division One:
- Essex beat Yorkshire by 8 wickets
- Warwickshire beat Middlesex by 190 runs
- Hampshire drew with Lancashire
- Surrey 69-1 v Somerset 436 (day 4 tomorrow)
Division Two:
- Sussex beat Worcestershire by 9 wickets
- Notts beat Derbyshire by an innings and 61 runs
- Northants drew with Gloucestershire
- Leicestershire drew with Durham
Thank you for your company over the last four days! It’s been fun, if soggy. Feel free to keep commenting away in my absence! CC - live! disappears again for a couple of weeks now, but will be back with a vengeance round about 28 August for a relentless run-in as things get exciting in the Champo, and there’ll be Finals Day to enjoy too. Speak then!

Good news on the women’s game!
Derbyshire have lost two wickets! Samit and Footitt this time, Godleman and Gary Wilson out. Can they force a win? Derbyshire 137 for four, still 151 behind.
Btw, I like Harry Brook a lot.
Harry Brook's first scoring shot as England captain is a 6 over mid wkt off leggie Chahar. Trevaskis on 22, Eng 58-1 in 12th

Notts have a wicket! The first today. It’s Ben Slater who has gone, to Hitman Hutton. Derbyshire are 130 for two, still 158 behind Notts. I sense as a result remains unlikely...
Hahah very good. They are 37 for none against India and playing on Sky Sports!

Hampshire (10) took one point than Lancs (9) and the two teams are now level on 112, 46 behind Essex. Essex and Lancs have played nine of their 14, Hampshire 10.
There is cricket at Derby, where the hosts are 83 for one against Notts.
Great news:
Bit of history for eng 19s at Canterbury - Hamidullah Qadri debut, first Afghanistan born player to represent England. Also Allison of Essex

Play has been abandoned in Taunton too.
As you’ve probably gathered, the match has been abandoned here.
Match abandoned at Wantage Road!
I know this is a touch off grid, but has the Worcestershire twitter person got a new job in football?
We are pleased to advise that we are hosting the filming of a period drama with the stadium mocked up as the Berlin Olympic Stadium of 1936.

Ha. I see there’s some Lanky dismay BTL about the equation I offered earlier which was possibly a tad generous. But there’s not going to be a chase of, say 50 overs (even 250 would still be tricky), because there’s very little prospect of the rain ending. Rest easy, Lanky folk.
They will surely be off for the day very soon.

Just to spark some debate while I watch it rain, what a round it has been to burgle a swift win. Huge strides at the top and bottom of Div One for Essex and Warwickshire while everyone else sits stagnant, and a big win for Sussex, who are right in the mixer for promotion.
I don’t believe it.
Now I don't want to upset the Cricket gods but the sun is threatening to come out here!
— YummyBear (@Beardo7) August 9, 2017
Oh my word we might have cricket!!!!
An early lunch will be taken at 12:20pm at Derby with play starting at 1pm if conditions at the 3aa County Ground don't worsen #DervNotts

There is one fan in the stands!
Hosing down again here. Play very, very unlikely.
There’s no play before lunch anywhere!
Basically the umpires’ plans here at the Ageas is reasonable. They are giving it until an early lunch at half 12, because they don’t reckon the outfield is all that bad. It’s still raining softly at the moment and they do want play. Game situation looks like a draw, but could Lancashire pull out and have a look if, say, we got 50 overs in?
Utterly miserable at Northampton. Chance of play very slim #bbccricket pic.twitter.com/PXSgClpvw4

Lunch at 12.30 here at the Ageas! Wahooooooo.
No news is bad news today, folks. And I have no news!
Inspection at 11.15 at Derby!
More optimism needed Gav! Inspection at 11.15 I'm keeping it all crossed! But Hales at 5 for me 👍🏻
— YummyBear (@Beardo7) August 9, 2017
Yes we can! I’m an outed Hales fan, and think he’d score more than Malan. And think he’d be much better suited to No5 in Tests than opening. I was touting him on Blast form alone, but now he has a run-a-ball red-ball ton too...
@willis_macp Hi Will, with little play looking imminent, can we discuss the likelihood of a recall for Alex Hales: https://t.co/Xe4q0qyiIk

Optimism in Derby! Be a big result for Notts if they could pull that off...
@willis_macp good news! It's dry in Derby and I can't here rain hitting the roof and supposed to be sunny later! 9 wickets here we come!
— YummyBear (@Beardo7) August 9, 2017
Taunton! Our one hope.

Match abandoned at Grace Road! Oh no. Six points for Leicestershire, 11 for Durham.
Morning all it's the morning call!
Good morning, and welcome to the Ageas Bowl, where – and I’m going to shock you here – it’s wet again. I’m Will Macpherson and I have no idea if I’ll be able to tell you about any cricket, but I’m not optimistic. As the players should be warming up, it’s not currently raining, but the full covers are on and they are holding standing water. The umpires are having a poke about, but not with great haste.
The Daily Express’s front page this morning tells us to expect a month’s worth of rain today. Not as if there’s anything else going on that we should know about, like, say, impending nuclear apocalypse. Anyway, what I’m saying is that I’m not expecting much cricket here, and I’m not expecting much cricket elsewhere.
Three other games had no play at all yesterday. Surrey’s game at Somerset did, and Mark Stoneman is batting. I wonder whether Trevor Bayliss is there? He’s 34 not out, has 1,000 first-class runs for the summer and is five away from 800 in the Champo. Here’s the current state of play:
Division One:
- Surrey 69-1 v Somerset 436
- Lancashire 149 &314-5 v Hampshire 224
Division Two:
- Derbyshire 220 & 45-1 v Notts 508-9d
- Leicestershire 124-4 v Durham 525-8d
- Northants 343 & 50-5 v Gloucestershire 265
And yesterday’s roundup is at the top of the liveblog. Wins for Warwickshire and Sussex! Read all about it.
