Tim Bresnan and Jack Leaning have batted for almost 10 overs together now after those two wickets for Ryan Pringle. I was a little bit surprised that Mark Stoneman dispensed with spin pretty quickly afterwards and went back to the seam of Graham Onions and Barry McCarthy.

We are into the last hour, with Yorkshire 194-5. There are a minimum of 15 overs left.

Still as you were at Old Trafford, although Worcestershire have lost a fifth at Derby. They should still hold on, though.

What was I saying? Draws all round…..Ryan Pringle has just removed Andrew Gale and Alex Lees, for 74, in successive overs to leave Yorkshire at 179-5. Pringle had Gale caught behind in the 55th and Lees chopped on in the 57th.

Yorkshire can forget the win now, without doubt. There are a minimum of 24 overs left for them to bat out and secure the draw. Jack Leaning and Tim Bresnan are at the crease.

Looking like draws all round now. Yorkshire are 171-3 in the 54th, needing 186 more from 27 and a bit overs. Alex Lees and Andrew Gale have been unable to score at any sort of rate since tea.

Warwickshire are 128-2 in the 51st against Lancashire, needing 184 more in a little over 22. Ian Bell and Jonathan Trott don’t seem interested in a chase there.

Worcestershire are now 242-4 against Derbyshire in their second innings, and it’s still raining at Arundel.

Yorkshire have lost their third wicket. Graham Onions induced an edge from Gary Ballance’s blade deep into the afternoon session, leaving the score at 149-3. The champions have since reached tea at 155-3 from 44 overs, needing 202 more from 37.

Alex Lees, 67 not out, and Andrew Gale, who has yet to score, are the men at the crease.

At Old Trafford, Warwickshire have reached tea at 102-2, needing 210 more from a minimum of 32. Ian Bell is 21 not out and Jonathan Trott five.

Worcestershire are 227-4 in their second innings, 76 behind at tea, and they will have high hopes of securing a draw against Derbyshire. It is currently raining at Arundel, where Northants are 142-2 replying to Sussex’s 178.

Oh so nearly a hat-trick here for Irishman Barry McCarthy. He had Adam Lyth caught behind for 50. Lyth thought it was a bump ball, but replays have shown it wasn’t. Next ball he had Kane Williamson lbw for a golden duck before extracting a huge appeal from every member of the Durham side against Gary Ballance for a leg-side caught behind. Jeremy Lloyds was unmoved.

Yorkshire are now 130-2 in the 35th over, with Ballance going on to hit 18 runs off his next six balls, including three fours in the following Usman Arshad over.

Adam Lyth and Alex Lees, who both now have fifties, have shared their second century partnership of the season to give Yorkshire an ideal platform chasing 357 in 81 overs.
They have taken the score to 105-0 after 30 and look untroubled.

They have kept the asking rate below five runs per over pretty much throughout and an away win, for me, looks the likeliest result. Cue all you Yorkshire fans shouting ‘jinx!’

Warwickshire are 68-1 at Old Trafford having lost Andy Umeed caught behind to Kyle Jarvis. Varun Chopra and Ian Bell are at the crease.

Ed Barnard and Joe Clarke are still going strong at Derby. They have put on 143 for the third wicket to boost Worcestershire’s chances of securing a draw. They are 167-2 following-on and now 136 runs behind. Barnard has 67 and Clarke 63.

Northants are 142-2 at Arundel and in charge against Sussex (178) on day two. Ben Duckett made 72.

Yorkshire are on the move. They have taken the score from 38-0 after 15 overs at lunch to 66-0 after 21. Adam Lyth hit Scott Borthwick for a straight six during he second over of the session, while Alex Lees has just hit two boundaries in three balls off the same bowler. The target is now 291 in 60.

At Old Trafford, Warwickshire have made a positive start to their chase of 312. They are 43-0 after 10 overs.

It’s been fairly untroubled progress so far for Yorkshire, who are 38-0 after 15 overs needing 319 more in a minimum of 66. The pitch, although low and slow, will not give the visitors nightmares. I am expecting the fireworks to come at some point as long they keep wickets in hand. After all, Jason Gillespie and Andrew Gale rarely shy away from a run chase.

Lancashire have declared at Old Trafford, leaving Warwickshire 311 to win off a minimum of 72 overs. Liam Livingstone finished with 106 not out, which represented his second Championship century in his debut season.

Yorkshire are 25-0 after nine chasing 357 here at Durham, while Worcestershire are 111-2 second time around at Derby. Joe Clarke and Ed Barnard are both into the forties. At Arundel, Northants are 53-1 in the early stages of day two.

Haseeb Hameed has fallen lbw to Rikki Clarke for 103, his maiden first-class hundred. If he hasn’t played Test Match cricket before his four-year contract, which he signed in February/March time, is up for renewal, I would be very surprised.

Hameed’s dismissal was the first of two wickets in two balls for Clarke, who also had Arron Lilley caught behind, leaving Lancashire at 241-7 - a lead of 286 with a little over 76 overs remaining in the day. You would think that, with three spin options, the hosts will bowl more than the allocation if required.

Durham have declared their second innings on 507-8, setting a target of 357 for Yorkshire in a minimum of 81 overs. Keaton Jennings finishes with 221 not out.

Keaton Jennings has his maiden double century, reached off 397 balls. He and Chris Rushworth (22 not out) have added 55 for the ninth wicket as Durham continue to frustrate Yorkshire. At 480-8, their lead is up to 329.

Paul Collingwood has tweeted that his digit injury is a fractured thumb.

Still no wickets at Old Trafford either, where Lancashire pair Haseeb Hameed and Liam Livingstone, 89 and 64 respectively, have added 100 for the sixth wicket. Lancashire are 204-5 in their second innings, 249 in front.

Jeetan Patel has bowled 38 overs in the innings, so it looks likely that Matthew Parkinson, Arron Lilley and Livingstone will all have a big say in things later on.

In Division Two, Worcestershire are 46-2 following on at Derby. Tony Palladino trapping Brett D’Oliveira lbw has been the only wicket to fall on day four so far.

Paul Collingwood will not take the field today due to a broken digit. (There is some confusion as to whether it’s a broken finger or thumb). But Ben Stokes and Mark Wood will. They have been given permission by England to share Durham’s 12th man duties. Mark Stoneman will captain the side in Collingwood’s absence.

Good morning from sunny Durham, where it is definitely sun cream and shorts weather. We are all set up for a fabulous final day’s cricket, with all results remaining realistic.

Personally, I would just edge towards Durham as favourites at this point. They are 452-8 in their second innings, leading by 301. But it would not surprise me one bit if Yorkshire clinched victory.

I refer to the opening line of my day one piece. “No matter what situation you put them in, Yorkshire always seem to find a way of getting the job done”.

There is a chance we could see Ben Stokes on the field today. A request has gone in to the ECB to field him as 12th man in place of Paul Collingwood, who picked up a thumb injury earlier in the match.

Stokes has been continuing his rehab following a knee operation this week, both in the nets and on the outfield at intervals, and he is expected to play a league match for Newcastle CC on Saturday as a batsman only.

The other Division One fixture in play is also into its final day at Old Trafford, where Lancashire are hosting Warwickshire. That is another game that could go either way. Lancashire, 170-5 in their second innings, lead by 215 with highly-rated opener Haseeb Hameed 81 not out and chasing his maiden first-class century.

Into Division Two, Worcestershire, 164 all out in reply to Derbyshire’s first-innings 467-5 declared, are 24-1 following on and have plenty of work to do to bat out the final day at Derby to avoid their second defeat of the season. A win for Derbyshire would be their first of 2016.

At Arundel, Sussex were bowled out for 178 on day one against Northants, for whom Azharullah took 6-68. The visitors are 43-1 overnight.
