Countryfile host Julia Bradbury admitted she was struggling to come to terms with her breast cancer battle after having a hard day.

“Processing everything that's happened & what the future holds is a bit much sometimes.

“I was told I'd have ups & downs & it all took over.

“I’m sharing b'cause so many people are going thro' the same.& that's OK.

“Sending love & #BreastCancerAwareness.”

BBC Radio 1 DJ Adele Roberts was one of many to send Julia her well wishes.

Adele recently underwent bowel cancer surgery herself, and was quick to give Julia her support.

She penned: “Sending you and your family lots of love Julia xx.”

Zoe Ball replied: " love & strength to you J for each step. thank you for sharing xxxx"

Carol Vorderman said: " You're helping so many others J.....hard for you and we're wall sending love....you're amazing xx"

One Twitter user added in the comments section: “If everyone that wanted to hug you now queued up it would be about a 1000 miles long.”

Another added: “The speed at which this happens is mind blowing - there’s so little time to adjust to what are really life changing decisions. But you will adjust and you will get through it. Thinking of you xx.”

One user commented: “Cancer is a rollercoster, lots of ups and downs, I find the downs are best dealt with outside, in the countryside, by the sea and with mother nature feeding our souls ! Good luck and don't ever give up hope xx.”

Another replied: “Julia, you are amazing, beautiful and inspirational. Women everywhere are behind you, pushing you to battle on. Stay strong, you can do this. Xx.”

A concerned fan said: “Gosh, I'm sorry to hear that, so sorry. I hope tomorrow is a better day. Sending love.”

Julia has had her left breast, along with a six centimetre tumour, removed.

Since her surgery, she has been going for walks to keep up with her exercise, but admitted it hasn't been easy.

She wrote on Twitter last month: "Walking a little bit further every week... strange to think that a month ago I was striding up mountains & now I'm puffed out after 5 mins in the garden but I'm really trying to take the docs advice & not push it too far.

"Still amazing to #Getoutdoors #recovery #breastcancer."

On October 11, Julia shared an update from her hospital bed post-mastectomy.

She told her fans that while she was "relieved" the operation was over, she felt sad that "such brutal treatment is necessary".
