Country singer Hardy hospitalised following 'significant injuries' in tour bus accident

Country musician Hardy has said that he is now recovering following a tour bus accident over the weekend which left him and others onboard with "significant injuries".

The singer-songwriter, 32 - whose name is Michael Wilson Hardy, but who performs under his surname - took to social media yesterday to comment on the recent incident.

He explained that the accident occurred whilst they were on their way home from Bristol, in Tennessee, where they had performed at a show on Saturday (October 1).

Hardy - who is responsible for chart-topping songs like One Beer, released last year - said that he's now recovering at home after having been released from hospital.

According to the Tennessean, the tour bus overturned on a portion of interstate near to Nashville, Tennessee, in the early hours of Sunday morning (October 2).

The award-winning songwriter said in a statement on Instagram yesterday: "Following last night's show, our tour bus was in an accident on our way home from Bristol".

Hardy continued in the recent post about the accident: "There were just four of us, including myself, on the bus, however we were all treated for significant injuries".

He said: "Our friend, and bus driver, needs your prayers as he is still in the hospital. His family is with him while he is being treated and we're all pulling and praying for him."

Hardy - who won Songwriter of the Year at this year's Academy of Country Music Awards (ACM Awards) - said that he had himself been released from hospital.

"[I've been] ordered by doctors to recover for the next few weeks which may cost us at a couple of shows. My team and I will keep the fans updated on that," he explained.

Hardy - who's written songs for the likes of Blake Shelton, Thomas Rhett and Florida Georgia Line - has since issued an update on social media just a few hours ago.

Addressing the supporting that he has received, the singer-songwriter wrote in a post: "Thank you for all the texts and calls. I'm alive and that's all that matters. I love you".
