Country music superstar Mike Denver and his wife Liz are expecting their first child together.
The couple, who got married in March 2012, are over the moon ahead of the arrival in 2020.
They have known the news of the pregnancy for a while but they kept it between friends and family until now.
Mike told RSVP Live: "Liz is expecting a little one early in the New Year.
"We have kept the news nice and quiet over the last few months, but I am delighted to say that we are having a baby in April.
"We have known for a long time but we wanted to keep the news to ourselves, it was just our close friends and family that knew."
Mike is dying to find out the sex of the baby but the couple decided to keep the news a surprise until April.
He added: "Just like most Irish people, I am nosey so I want to find out the sex of the baby, but Liz doesn’t want to.
"I will have to respect her wishes and we will keep things very traditional ahead of the birth.
"I am over the moon and we have been looking forward to becoming parents for a long time now.
"It is about time for us. I have been there for all of the scans and we will be officially six months pregnant on New Years Day."
Mike is constantly busy with touring, both in Ireland and around the world, but has booked some time off around the due date to spend some time with Liz and the newborn.
The Galway man explained: "As everybody knows, you can’t really plan a birth because babies can come early or late, you never know until he or she arrives.
"I have left a bit of time around April free to be there as much as I can.
"You just have to go with the flow because you can never predict these things in advance."
