Country 2 Country and dozens of other music events postponed in Republic of Ireland

Dozens of events in the Republic of Ireland have been cancelled over the course of the next two weeks, with promoter MCD making an announcement this afternoon.

The events include the country festival, Country 2 Country, which was expected to bring more than 30,000 people to Dublin's 3Arena over the course of the three days, from Friday March 13 to 15.

Other events which were due to take place over the next two weeks include Ludovico Einaudi, Horslips, The Who and dozens of other gigs.

"Effective Immediately from 1800hrs today 12 March 2020

"Covid-19 Government Directive issued to cancel all public events until Sunday 29 March of a capacity of 100 people and over.

"Following today’s (12 March 2020) Irish Government directive to cancel all events of over 100 capacity (indoor) and 500 capacity (outdoor) due to take place between now and 29 March MCD Productions has now postponed all affected shows.

"MCD Productions is currently working with artists and venues to reschedule all dates.

"Original tickets purchased for all affected events will remain valid for rescheduled dates which will be notified to patrons on confirmation.

"MCD Productions wish to thank all our customers and staff for their continued co-operation and understanding during this unprecedented time in the interests of health and welfare of all."
