Counter terrorism police and forensic investigators swoop on Wigan house to execute warrant

Counter terrorism police have swooped on a residential street to execute a warrant.

Police and forensic investigators have been at the scene in Chatham Street, Ince-in-Makerfield, since 7am this morning, according to residents.

Officers from Counter Terrorism Policing North West arrived to execute a warrant at a property on the road.

No arrests have yet been made and enquiries are ongoing, Greater Manchester Police has confirmed.

Investigators dressed in white forensic suits remain in Chatham Street, along with a specialist operations van, say residents in the area.

A spokesperson for GMP said: "On Tuesday 17 November, officers from Counter Terrorism Policing North West executed a warrant at a property on Chatham Street, Ince-in-Makerfield, Wigan.

"No arrests have been made and enquiries are on-going."
