Multiplayer online shooter Counter-Strike has been linked with the murder of a Sydney man two years ago. The Australian Daily Telegraph made the connection on its front page last Thursday, and you can find details of the story here.
However, the paper's observations have been disputed by tech site, The Inquirer, which asserts that the videogame's involvement has been taken entirely out of context.
The story is highly reminiscent of the Manhunt controversy earlier this year, where several newspapers explicitly connected Rockstar's game to the murder of teenager Stefan Pakeerah, even though the police investigating the incident played down the product's role in the crime.
