Counter fraud specialist switches from HMRC to head MHA Henderson Loggie forensics team

A forensic accountant who worked with HMRC on fraud investigations has been appointed to head up a specialist business unit for accountants MHA Henderson Loggie.

Christine Rolland, a counter-fraud specialist who began her career with BDO, moves from HMRC to become Glasgow-based director of the firm’s forensics business as part of an expansion move for the team.

She has worked with investigators in tax-related criminal investigations as well as on assignments such as contentious business valuations, including breach of contract, and personal injury claims.

Rolland will work with MHA Henderson Loggie’s Edinburgh-based director Peter Graham to provide national coverage.

The firm’s managing partner David Smith said: “Christine brings complementary skills, expertise and contacts to the team which will cement our position as the leading provider of forensic accounting services in Scotland. Christine will be an asset to the business and to MHA Henderson Loggie as a whole.”

Rolland said she was “thrilled to have the opportunity to further develop one of the country’s most experienced and highly regarded forensics practices by establishing a base in Glasgow”.

She added: “In particular, I’m delighted to join Peter who has a great reputation in the market for civil litigation and criminal proceedings. I look forward to working with Peter and the team and building upon MHA Henderson Loggie’s well established reputation in forensics.”
