The countdown is on for Belfast's Strongest Man 2019!
The big strongman competition is coming to West Belfast on Sunday, July 28 (12pm start).
High-powered athletes from Northern Ireland, Ireland, England and Scotland will all be competing for the title.
The charity event will be held at Excel Gym in Dunmurry with all donations going to Everglow Health and Wellbeing.
The competition has been organised by the current Ireland's Strongest Man Michael Downey and Excel owner Tommy McVeigh.
"We can't wait for the event next weekend, it is a fun-filled day for all the family," explained Michael.
"It is also for a great cause and hopefully we can raise some money for the charity."
As for the competitors, the strongmen will take on six events on the day, including:
- Log Press 130kg (reps)
- Super Yoke 380kg (medley)
- Farmer's Walk 140kg per hand (medley)
- Deadlift 280kg (reps)
- Loading Medley
- Atlas Stone (160kg (reps)
Michael added: "This will be a brilliant event with some strong guys lifting some really heavy stuff.
"There will be free admission and car parking, and also a free family fun day. So there is something for all the family to enjoy on the day.
"I organise one charity event each year and encourage all the community to come out and support us. Any money we raise on the day will go towards Everglow Health and Wellbeing."
